Sarah Macgregor
Sarah MacGregor
Avalanche Instructor

With almost two decades as an educator and guide on rocks, rivers and alpine peaks, Sarah is committed to elevating others to become leaders and own their voice in the outdoor space and beyond. In 2024 she became the first woman in the U.S. to become an American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA) Certified Splitboard Guide alongside one other woman, and she actively makes it her goal to mentor others to do the same.

She’s an AIARE Avalanche Course Leader, works as a core staff member for AIARE, and also has training with the AMGA in the Rock and Alpine disciplines. Based in Durango, Colorado, you’ll find her ridge hopping in the summer, riding powder in the winter, and playing “hide and seek” with her pups who have avalanche rescue training.
