Nick grew up in New England, spending the vast majority of his youth and teenage
years in search of cross country and telemark skiing, backpacking, and whitewater
kayaking across the Northeast. But it wasn’t until he was stationed in Washington that
he fell in love with climbing. After leaving the military in 2019, Nick moved to Colorado
for the mountains, and to attend grad school…but mostly for the mountains.
Nick began his career in guiding and climbing education in 2022. He enjoys helping
clients develop their technical skills and risk management protocols to better meet
wilderness challenges, whether that is climbing outside for the first time, planning a
backcountry ski excursion, or tackling a multi-day alpine adventure.
When he’s not suffering up a wide crack in Vedauwoo, making turns in Cameron Pass,
or being way too amped on coffee during a pre-dawn approach in Rocky, Nick can be
found volunteering with the Larimer County Search & Rescue Team; practicing jiu jitsu;
whitewater paddling on the Poudre River; canyoneering across the southwest;
backcountry skiing, bouldering, and running with his dog; and reading.
