This three day mountaineering course builds upon the topics and skills covered in our Introduction to Mountaineering and Crevasse Rescue Courses. It is designed for climbers who want to advance their technical skills in big mountaineering terrain. This is an excellent course to refine existing climbing skills and learn new ones that will increase your efficiency in the mountains as you take on bigger peaks.
You’ll be able to work side by side with your instructor to gain valuable feedback and knowledge on logistical planning of trips, complex anchoring, rope management, transitions, navigating steep terrain, and descent techniques all culminating in a student led objective on the final day. Our guides have decades of experience teaching and applying these skills and want to show you what works as you set your sights on the big mountains.
Hands on experience and time in the driver’s seat is crucial for learning to happen in the mountains. There will be plenty of time to ask questions, practice skills, plan logistics, and take the lead under a highly trained professional. A solid working knowledge of climbing techniques and crevasse rescue is recommended to get the most out of this course.
