Description

Located just west of Golden, Colorado is Clear Creek Canyon. This is a haven for climbers, boasting a rich history and captivating rock formations that have beckoned adventurers for generations. Carved over millions of years by its namesake Clear Creek, this canyon offers an array of climbing experiences amidst its exciting, steep terrain. Just a short drive into the canyon provides access to over 1,000 bolted rock routes.

Winter in Clear Creek Canyon brings a unique allure. This is one of Colorado’s only locations where you can rock climb in a T-shirt and ice climb on the same day, sometimes from the same parking lot. Keep an eye on conditions; you might just be able to make it happen!

Clear Creek Canyon is probably best known for its Tunnel 5 area, which boasts a high concentration of quality, entry-level routes that make it a perfect place to have fun. Of course, there is no shortage of 5.14 routes for the big senders. Some crags of note in this area are Other Critters, Catslab, and Creek Side. Climbs here are moderate, well-bolted, and fun. This area gets plenty of sunlight, making it accessible almost all year round.

Being so close to home, we climb here a bunch. Let us show you around!
