Description

Alaska needs little introduction as a winter paradise. As the largest state in the country, there is an abundance of incredible ice climbing centered around Anchorage. And we are excited to share it with you! Join us and our professional guides for some of the absolute best ice climbing around Anchorage, Palmer, and Wasilla. South central Alaska has a huge variety of ice climbs, from single pitch ice flow cragging, to steep and challenging brittle ice, to enjoyable multipitch ice climbing in beautiful and awe-inspiring mountains. There is something here for everyone!

We offer private ice guiding, ice climbing instruction, and ice climbing courses customized to your ability level and desires for the day. We can teach you the skills to build ice anchors, make v-threads, and be more efficient while climbing ice. Looking for technique pointers? We can get you up to speed climbing steep ice and feeling confident doing it. Many of the venues we use are perfect for first time ice climbers and seasoned veterans alike. With full day and bigger day options, we can meet you where you are at in your ice climbing journey and customize a day just for you and your group.

Our guides are expert teachers and instructors and are passionate about sharing an incredible ice climbing experience with you. Our private Alaska Ice Climbing days are a great way to experience ice climbing for the first time, or to climb wild ice in America’s Last Frontier. All of our guides operate within the AMGA Scope of Practice and are exceptional at teaching skills such as technique, steep ice technique, ice climbing anchors, rope management, and so much more.

Some of the venues we commonly use are:

  • Seward Highway
  • Caribou Creek
  • Chugach State Park

With such an abundance of ice so close to Anchorage and the Central Valley, it is very easy to climb multiple days in a row and never climb the same piece of ice twice. Need help planning your Alaska Ice Climbing Trip? Contact Us and we can answer questions and point you in the right direction.
