The Cables Route in Rocky Mountain National Park. This route is the shortest round trip up Longs Peak, and includes easy technical climbing to reach the top! Formally known as the north face of Longs. The reason for the name “cables route” came from the cable system that was installed here from the years 1926-1973. To this day you can still find eyebolts along the original route, left in by the National Park Service.
This route is highly recommended to our clients because of the lower roundtrip mileage compared to the keyhole route, and has significantly less people on it. If you are looking for a unique scrambling experience, the cables route is for you!
