Description

Rock climbing anchors are one of the most fun, exciting, and challenging parts of climbing. Once surrounded in mystery, now tech-tips, literature, and Youtube videos exist to help educate climbers of all experience levels about anchor craft. But at the end of the day, no instagram clip will help you learn like the hands-on experience and feedback you’ll get in this course. For us at Golden Mountain Guides, building efficient anchors is all a part of a fun day at the crag, and is one of the most important parts of climbing. The less time spent building anchors, the more time there is for knocking out pitches!

Solid anchor building skills serve as the foundation to build other advanced climbing techniques upon, like self-rescue and multi-pitch climbing. Join us for a full day course focused on building every kind of anchor you might encounter in the wild. Whether it’s bolted, natural, or built out of cams and nuts, we will show you the way. Our AMGA Trained and Certified guides and instructors are here to answer your questions and work with you to build solid anchors that are unquestionably strong.

Once you can build your own anchors, you are able to unlock the next level of climbing adventure – multi-pitch and traditional climbing. If you’re desperate for big mountain adventures, anchor building will be the key skill that enables you to take on bigger objectives. Being able to build solid anchors with what happens to be left on your harness after finishing the last pitch is a skill often underestimated.

There are 100 ways to build a bomber anchor at each belay station, and it’s up to you to determine what the best way to get it done will be. This course is the perfect way to learn and practice those skills, so you can develop a keen eye to make the best decisions you can out on the mountain. This is an excellent followup course if you’ve taken an Introduction to Trad Climbing Course.

The Anchors clinic is designed for climbers who want a better understanding of how to build many different climbing anchors.  This course covers both traditional anchors as well as bolted anchors and natural anchors.  This day long course is packed with tips and tricks for how to efficiently build solid anchors.  You’ll definitely feel confident in your anchor building skills after walking away from this fast paced and exciting course!
