Golden Mountain Guides will host this introduction to outdoor rock climbing in the famed Clear Creek Canyon, one of our favorite climbing destinations. If you’ve come to visit Golden or Denver, this is a great way to explore the canyon and really feel what the Rocky Mountains have to offer.

In this course, our AMGA Certified Guides and instructors will work through a well developed intro to climbing lesson plan to get you up to speed. We’ll cover the proper use of equipment, fundamentals of body positioning and movement, belaying your partner, and more. By the end of the day, you will be feeling more confident and most importantly - totally hooked on climbing. We can’t wait to see you out there!

Intro to Rock Climbing

Don't miss your opportunity to scale impossible looking rocks for the first time!  Rock climbing is quickly becoming more and more popular and we can show you why. Are you interested in learning the sport? We'll teach you the basics and much more! In this class, you'll learn the basic skills needed to begin rock climbing such as tying climbing knots, how to belay, techniques and movement for scaling the vertical realm and more! We'll also point you in the right direction to continue your rock climbing journey.

This introductory rock climbing class is co-taught by both an AMGA Certified Rock Guide and Single Pitch Instructor, so you know you are in good hands!  There will be plenty of time to ask questions, practice skills, and see what all the fun is about.  No experience is necessary for this course.  Perfect for beginners that have never tried rock climbing before, or have climbed a few times in a climbing gym.
