January 9-10, 2021
February 20-21, 2021
March 13-14, 2021
After brief introductions, your guide will fit you with a harness, helmet, boots, and crampons. The group will then travel two minutes to a nearby climb where your guide will set up a toprope and explain the theory behind anchor construction. If applicable, the group will rappel into the gorge and start belaying and movement lessons for the day.
The day begins with participants becoming involved in setting up the first anchor of the day. Day 2 is all about practice and refinement of the previous day's lessons. Those ready for steeper terrain will be shown techniques to progress. Your guide will also introduce you to ice screws, how they are placed, and how they are used to construct an anchor.
