The Lake City Ice Park, located within the town limits of Lake City, is home to many long and steep ice routes. This man-made ice park will definitely leave you feeling accomplished.
This intermediate ice climbing course is a perfect way to become more comfortable climbing steep ice. Movement efficiency and technique form the backbone of this steep ice class and we guarantee you'll pick up new ice climbing techniques. This two day course helps climbers feel comfortable swinging tools on vertical ice and will leave you with the techniques to climb bigger ice routes!

A professionally trained and/or certified AMGA guide
All necessary ice climbing equipment including harnesses, helmets, belay devices, crampons, ice tools, and mountaineering boots

Transportation. You will be responsible for your own transportation to and from a designated meeting area

Itinerary
Day 1:
After brief introductions, your guide will ensure everyone has the necessary equipment and gear for the day. The group will then travel just a few minutes to the Lake City Ice Park where your guide will set up topropes and demo proper steep ice technique. Today is all about moving on steep ice and perfecting our technique.
Day 2:
The day begins with participants becoming involved in setting up the first anchors of the day. Day 2 is all about practice and refinement of the previous day's lessons. We will climb some steep terrain today! Your guide will also talk about ice screws, anchor construction, and belaying on ice. Plan to climb a lot!
