Doug started rock climbing in 1989 on the roofs of the Shawangunks of New York and the granite cliffs in the Adirondacks. Over the years, climbing has taken him to some of the most beautiful landscapes the world has to offer: in the U.S. from the Sierras of California, throughout
the east coast, the steep southern sandstone bluffs, and the Rocky Mountains to international locations such as Greece, Spain, Switzerland and France. He enjoys all forms of rock climbing including bouldering, alpine, traditional, and sport.
He has recently transitioned from a long career as a civil engineer, gladly giving up his desk job to climb and guide. Doug’s desire in guiding is to be able to give his clients the tools, skills and experience that they need to safely be on the rocks and in the mountains.
When he isn’t climbing, Doug can be found backcountry skiing, biking or trail running around the Colorado mountains.
